Savio began his football journey at Atlético Mineiro with the U-14 youth level where he quickly distinguished himself. He signed his first professional contract on June 18 2020 having secured a three-year deal with a release clause of 60 million euros.
Savinho soon began training with the professional squad making his debut for the first team on August 19 in a 4-3 victory against Atlético Goianiense in Goiânia. He was part of the triple crown-winning squad for Atletico Mineiro in 2021 and in October 2021, he was listed by the English newspaper The Guardian as one of the 60 most promising young players in the world born in 2004.
Unrelenting in his good performance, his first professional goal came on May 19, 2022 in a 3-1 win over Independiente del Valle in a COpa Libertadores match. Savio has represented Brazil at both the youth levels and senior level. He was part of the Brazil U15 team that won the 2019 South American U-15 Championship, scoring four goals.
