Early Life
Rico was born in Bury, Greater Manchester. His father Rick Lewis was a two-time Muay Thai ( Thai boxing) champion, it was said that he started training Rico on Thai boxing when he was just three. Rico will later attribute his early martial arts practice to his self-confidence, humility, coordination and balance.
His father was also the founder of the Phoenix Muay Thai Gym in Bury Greater Manchester.

Club Career
Rico joined Manchester City at the age of eight, he rose through the ranks, joining City’s under-18 team at 15, during his last full season as a junior ( 2021/2022) he captained his side to a junior team Premier League win.
Rico was named in City’s bench for the first time in their opening game of the 2022/2023 season, he made his debut in the next game against AFC Bournemouth coming in as a substitute for Kyle Walker.
He also made his Champions League debut coming in as a substitute for Joao Cancelo against Copenhagen.
His breakout performance at Man City came in a UCL game against Sevilla, it was also the first time Rico was starting a game for his boyhood club, he scored the equalizer in the game which ended in a 3-1 victory for Man City.
Rico’s performance in the game ensued raised eyebrows and praises from City fans and neutrals alike— in a sport characterized by physicality and pure strength, a lanky teenager is creating a name for himself.
In August 2023 Rico signed a five year deal with his boyhood club. He has had a successful club Career thus far, winning the double in his debut season, the treble in his second and helping his team to an unprecedented 4 peat.
International Career
In September 2021, Rico scored for England’s under-18 team in a match against Wales. A year later, on September 21, 2022, he debuted with the under-19’s, helping secure a 2–0 win over Montenegro in UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification.
Rico made his England U21 debut on March 28, 2023, in a close 2–1 match against Croatia. By November 13, 2023, he earned his first senior team call-up for UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia. He debuted on November 20, playing the full 90 minutes in a 1–1 draw with North Macedonia, securing England’s top seed for Euro 2024.

Still in his teenage years, Rico has won many team trophies such as the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, Fa Cup, EFL cup, UEFA Super Cup, Club World Cup. He was also the Captain of Man City side that won the Premier League 2.
