Club Career

Johnson joined Nottingham Academy from Dunkirk when he was eight and made his first-team debut at 18. On 25 September 2020, he joined league one club Lincoln City on a season long loan which turned out to be a great one as he scored his first career goal and his first career hat-trick in that one season.

Johnson scored his first professional goal for Nottingham Forest on August 28 2021. Following the appointment of Steve Cooper, Johnson experienced an incredible upturn of form, scoring one goal and providing two assists in a month which earned him the EFL Young Player of the Month award for September 2021.

He ended the season as the top scorer with 19 goals across all competitions and was named the EFL Championship Player of the Month. He signed a new four-year contract with Nottingham forest in July, 2022 which was set to expire in 2026.
